Sing, talk, read, write, and play your way to kindergarten. The 1,000 Activities Before Kindergarten program encourages parents and caregivers to complete 1,000 early literacy activities with their child before he or she reaches kindergarten.
How to Begin
Visit the Youth Services department during your next library visit to pick-up an activity folder
In the folder you will find your first activity log, activity ideas, tips, a free book, and more.
Keep track of 200 activities at a time, marking off each time you and your child finish an activity.
For every 200 activities you share together, bring the activity log and your child to the library to receive a sticker, a prize, and your next activity log.
Do the same activity as many times as you or your child like.
Have friends or family members sing, talk, read, write, and play with your child.
