Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. - Drug Awareness for Parents
This class provides basic drug knowledge regarding common drugs in Johnston. This course will also offer tips for parents for detecting and preventing the use of drugs in their children. No registration required.
Saturday, September 18 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - KidSight
Free vision screening by the Johnston Lions Club in conjunction with "Iowa KidSight" and the Department of Ophthalmology through the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The exam is free to any child between the ages of 6 months and 4 years that has not yet received an eye exam from another clinic or doctor. Visiion screening provides instant photographis of the child's eyes to assist in diagnosing vision problems and eye disorders. Results will be sent to the University of Iowa and will be mailed back to the child's home. This process can take up to 3 weeks.

Is your neighborhood concerned about security and other personal safety issues? Take time to learn about neighborhood watch and start a program in your neighborhood. All it takes is a few residents to get a program going. Register.

Visiting Nurse Services will be here administering the seasonal flu shot for $20.00/shot. If you are on Medicare, please bring all of your insurance cards. The event will be held in our Archive Room.
Friday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. - Ghost Hunters!
IPART, the only Iowa ghosthunter's group that is a part of TAPS, will be at the Simpson Barn at 7:00 p.m. to share the stories, pictures, and even video footage of their ghosthunting adventures. They are bringing all of their ghosthunting equipment for everyone to examine. Come on over to the Barn...if you dare! Register.
